Klimkówka Lake was set up on the Ropie River in 1994. Its area is about 306 ha with 6.5 km in length. The dam is 37 m high and 210 m wide. The water is used for energy purposes. The reservoir also serves for firefighting purposes and is a source of drinking and industrial water for Gorlice and Jasło. Klimkówka not only diversifies the landscape, but also is a perfect place for leisure and water sports. The shoreline is diversified. Thanks to winds blowing almost every day, it is possible to windsurf. One of many advantages of the reservoir is the fact that is situated away from big cities which guarantees peace and tranquillity. Those conditions favour qualified tourism like fishing. The landscape of Klimówka region is unique. The reservoir is closed by wooded hills and surrounded by wildlife. The shores are not developed which raise landscape values even more. The charm of this place was noticed by Jerzy Hoffman who used Klimkówka by presenting it as The Dnieper River in the movie With Fire and Sword.
